I am a PhD candidate in Philosophy at the University of Michigan. My primary research interests are in ethics, metaethics, and the philosophy of action. Before coming to Michigan, I received my BA in philosophy and psychology from New York University. I grew up in Stavanger, Norway.

My dissertation defends the moral significance of interpersonal love. It argues that the experience of such love is essential to our coming to grasp—and being moved by—the moral reality of other people. My other research further explores how clarifying the nature of various interpersonal phenomena can help us better understand (and solve) philosophical problems concerning moral motivation, normativity, agency, and action.
